History
Corporate Flight, Inc. (CFI) was founded in 1978 as Mid-Michigan Aviation in Alma, MI. Service demand increased rapidly prompting a move to Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) in 1979 at which time, the company was renamed Corporate Flight, Inc. The first aircraft operated by CFI was a Cessna Citation 500. Additional Citations and Lear Jet aircraft were added to the fleet in 1981 as the company continued to grow.
Recognizing the utility of jet travel, Grand Trunk Railroad purchased Corporate Flight in 1990 to satisfy internal and external travel needs. Due to regulations pertaining to ownership of a United States aircraft charter company by an international entity (Canada), Grand Trunk sold the company to Corporate Flight’s present owners in 1991.
Economic growth and client demand in northern Oakland County prompted CFI to establish hangar and dispatch facilities at Oakland County International Airport (PTK) in 1991 to better serve its customers.
Today, CFI operates from Oakland County International Airport (PTK) in Waterford, Michigan. We own, manage, lease and/or operate
8 jet aircraft ranging from Citation II's to Hawker 800's. With
12 full-time pilots,
6 mechanics and an administrative/support staff of 6, CFI is ready to serve your most demanding travel needs.
